In Hospice

Over the past several weeks, Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) has been vitally involved in assisting those affected by the Thomas Disaster. In the wake of this disaster, HSB remains committed to serving our community as we have during past crises. As our community begins to move forward, HSB is offering several support groups for people impacted by the disaster.

 

Each group will be guided by a licensed therapist and free of charge, but does require pre-registration to attend. The following support groups will be offered:

Support group for adults that were in evacuation zones leading up to and/or after the Thomas Disaster:

  • Location: Hospice of Santa Barbara, 2050 Alameda Padre Serra Ste 100
  • Day/Time: Saturday mid mornings
  • Dates: 6 week group, Feb 17th – March 24th

Support Group for adults grieving the death of an acquaintance or friend due to Thomas Disaster:

  • Facilitator: Susan Whutkke, LCSW
  • Location: HSB LBR
  • Day/Time: Tuesday evenings
  • Dates: 6 week group, Feb 20th – March 27th

Pet Loss Support Group:

  • Facilitator: Susan Whutkke, LCSW
  • Location: HSB Group Room
  • Day/Time: Thursday noon hours
  • Dates: 4 week group, Feb. 8th – March 1st

Carpinteria Community Thomas Disaster Community Support Group

A time for community members to gather and shared how they have been impacted by the Thomas fire and flood, and offer mutual support.

  • Facilitator: Susan Whutkke, LCSW
  • Location: Carpinteria Children’s Project
  • Day/Time: Saturday midmornings
  • Dates: 4 week group, Feb. 10th – March 3rd
