The SBCC Foundation is serving as fiscal sponsor of two of our community’s most effective grassroots response efforts to the debris flow in Montecito on January 9, 2018. The SBCC Foundation is donating its time and infrastructure for this effort, and 100% of all donations to the Santa Barbara Support Network and the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade will be available to these projects. Both projects are working cooperatively with long-established nonprofit (and public) organizations and are serving to fill gaps in the current recovery effort.

The Santa Barbara Support Network’s mission is to support the immediate needs of families impacted by the recent mudslides, who have lost homes, loved ones, or belongings. While there are many organizations helping during this time of need, the SB Support Network has found that making a direct connection between families’ needs and people who can support those needs is most effective. They also link to community resources, including: housing, temporary work, community events, and lost and found boards.

The Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade organizes volunteers to help people dig out the mud from their properties, and deliver supplies, tools and lunches to the volunteers in the field. Funding helps to pay for heavy equipment needed to dispose of mud debris.

The SBCC Foundation is a 501c3 public charity, federal tax ID # 95-3234551.

Thank you for helping our community in its recovery!
